So I’m doing research and being very responsible about it because I think it’s horrible when people impulse-buy pets and then fail to give them the care they need but MAN THESE LITTLE GUYS ARE SO CUTE THEY MAKE IT HARD FOR ME TO TAKE MY TIME.
thank you so so much for doing your research and taking time. I know it’s hard to resist but when you get your fur babies they’ll be heading to a forever home - not a home who doesn’t have a clue about looking after them and gets bored after a week. A lot of people impulse buy these adorable guys and they end up in crappy homes or get thrown at a shelter first chance they get so you have my respect for taking your time!
Exactly! I’ve seen many people do that with various pets and it just kills me. Then you have all these poor little guys needing to be adopted but no one wants them because they’re old :(
it annoys me so much seeing people posting on tumblr “OMG FERRETS R SO CUTE” then they get one and are all “OMG MY FERRET BIT ME I HATE IT” or “OMG MY MOM FOUND OUT I BOUGHT IT AND NOW SHE WANTS ME TO GET RID OF IT” or “OMG FERRETS SMELL SO BAD WHY DID I GET ONE”.
RESEARCH YOUR GODDAMNED PETS.
Ferrets WILL be nippy little buggers when they are little, its a FERRET thing. This is why you TRAIN THEM not to bite. And ffs ASK YOUR FAMILY FIRST, don’t dedicate the next 10+ years of your life to an animal and not make sure your family/landlord/housemates are cool with it - FOREVER HOME MEANS FOREVER GUYS. And oh god, all animals smell guys - dogs stink, they stink bad but you GET USED TO THE SMELL. I can walk into a doggy house and know instantly “wow, you guys own a dog” before I see any evidence of it.
